David Carr Signs On With New York
Ok first of all, why does he wear those gloves?
To me he always looks dumb because if you play bad, you can’t have some signature outcast thing going on that only you do (someone else does it but I forgot who).
Anyways, chaulk me up as someone who thought Carr was unfairly branded a never was. I thought the Houston O-line was at least equally to blame. After last season, I arrived at the conclusion he’s just not that good. I mean Jake Delhomme has pretty good production in the pocket at Carolina. True he gets dinged up, but I think it’s his softness more than it is the line. But anyways, the point is Carolina’s line - while it may not be top 10 - isn’t horrendous and Carr still looked as bad as the day he arrived in Houston. So as someone who thought Carr could be a potential sleeper when Delhomme inevitably got hurt (we all knew he would), I definitely was wrong.
Now DC goes to NY to become Eli’s backup. As bad as Carr is, he’s a step up from the doughy Jared Lorenzen. How that guy made a professional football team as the legitimate #2 backup is beyond me. He was way too slow and immobile and his accuracy was horrible anytime he was forced to move laterally.
Carr isn’t draftable. I wouldn’t even want him on my roster if he started for the Giants.
