Preseason Wrap-up, New Jags QB
As usual, most of the final preseason games didn’t make much of a fantasy impact. Most of the starters were spectators and gave way to those attempting to solidify backup jobs. However, there was one big piece of news in this final preseason week: David Garrard has taken over the starting quarterback role for the Jacksonville Jaguars. I mentioned a couple of times over the past few weeks that I thought Leftwich was the better QB and this would happen sooner or later. With his average passing skills and the extra rushing yards he’ll get, Garrard should hover around the #12-15 range for fantasy quarterbacks this season–not a bad choice at all for your backup.
