Week 3 Games
Wow, I don’t think anyone expected such an offensive explosion by the Eagles! They trounced the Lions 56-21. I was really hoping the Eagles would stink so we wouldn’t have to look at those ugly throwback uniforms anymore. It remains to be seen if the passing game will become a consistent force, but Brian Westbrook has made his case to be the top fantasy running back. he is currently on pace to exceed 1,000 yards each for rushing and receiving. Beware his brittleness, though–he was lasted as questionable on the injury report last week and is again this week. Don’t forget that the Lions racked up the passing yards in defeat. Kitna and his top three WRs should be valuable fantasy starters all year long.
The Cowboys have also shown that their offense is capable of moving the football against any defense. Romo, Barber and Owens are are stout fantasy trio. Also, the Packers are providing surprising fantasy value from Favre and Driver. James Jones is getting more looks than I thought he would get this early in his career; if puts up similar numbers for the next week or two, I’ll be comfortable calling him a decent third fantasy WR. Green Bay really needs to find a solid RB, though. Perhaps Morency will soon produce for them when he returns.
Injuries have hit Steven Jackson, J.P. Losman, Jake Delhomme, and Plaxico Burress, among others. Be sure to check their status, as well as their replacements.
