Week 4 Games: Earnest Saves Tampa?

  • Can you believe the Packers are undefeated and the Lions are playoff contenders? Meanwhile, the Chargers and Bears are both1-3.
  • Offenses I’m not afraid to start anytime: Dallas, New England, Indianapolis, Detroit (passing game), Green Bay (passing game).
  • Carnell Williams suffered a devastating knee injury that will take him out for the rest of the season and possibly longer. There is no clear favorite to replace him; Michael Pittman is a better receiver, but Earnest Graham has been getting the goal-line carries. Go with Pittman in PPR Leagues and take Graham in leagues that rely heavily on TDs.
  • Jake Delhomme missed week 4 and will likely miss week 5. The same goes for Anquan Boldin.
  • The Colts had a bunch of starters knocked out of the game. Addai will probably play, but there is room for doubt since he has not practiced yet this week. Harrison is currently listed as “questionable.”
  • Marc Bulger had little success again this week, so he will finally sit and let his ribs heal. Gus Frerotte will replace him.
  • Brian Leonard was decent in his first start, but he faced a tough Dallas team. Leonard will likely get at least a couple more starts, but avoid using him unless he faces a soft run defense–the St. Louis offense is not exactly “The Greatest Show on Turf” anymore.
  • A lot of veteran quarterbacks have been stepping in to fill the spots of ineffective or injured starters. Warner and Frerotte are the only two worth picking up on waivers as a backup or spot starter.
